Computer vision is an interdisciplinary field that deals with how computers can be made to gain high-level understanding from digital images or videos. From the perspective of engineering, it seeks to automate tasks that the human visual system can do.
Machien Vision vs Computer Vision: Machine vision refers to many technologies, software and hardware products, integrated systems, actions, methods and expertise. Historically, Machine Vision is the engineering i.e apply techniques to solve real life problems to what Computer Vision is science i.e theoretical behind artificial system to extract information from images. In more recent times, the terms computer vision and machine vision have converged to a greater degree.
